Gold Star Media Award
In 2003, PRA introduced the Gold Star Media Service Award. This award honors a local media outlet (print or electronic) for a community service project or campaign that occurred during the previous calendar year.Each award entry must be from a Central Illinois television, print, or radio media outlet and must be an activity or campaign that benefits the local public. The event must have occurred January - December of the previous calendar year.
Entries must consist of a one- to two-page narrative describing the activity or campaign and its results. Supporting documents (photos, news clippings, or video/audiotapes) should be included. Video and audiotapes should be no longer than 7 minutes. Local media is encouraged to send in more than one entry. The award will be presented during the April PRA meeting, and the winner will be notified prior to the meeting.
