
The Public Relations Association of Central Illinois awarded the Pat Landen Communications award and Gold Star Media Award at their April meeting at South Side Mission. Bob Meismer and Trisha Noack accept the Pat Landen Communications award for the Peoria Public Library’s Close the Gaps: Libraries for All Campaign. Accepting the Gold Star Media Award was Meg Johnson and Patti Smith for WMBD/WYZZ’s Operation Santa.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS AT PRA
The Public Relations Association of Central Illinois (PRA) will have its next meeting on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Barrack’s Cater Inn in Peoria, IL from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $17 for members or $22 for non-members.
This month we will have roundtable discussions on current public relations topics. The topics are: better pitching of story ideas, event planning, new trends and ideas in fundraising, integrating marketing communication at the local level, and swap and shop. PR TOYS/TOOLS/TECH AT NOVEMBER PRA MEETING
The Public Relations Association of Central Illinois (PRA) will have its next meeting on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the River Station in Peoria, IL from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $17 for members or $22 for non-members.
This month’s topic is ‘“Toys/Tools/Tech” A Review of Tools and Technology for the PR Professional.” Technology advances happen so quickly that it’s easy to become old news before you create any new news. Public Relations professionals need to be knowledgeable about what is new, what is tried and true and what is on its way out. November’s PRA meeting aims to help with professional insight and advice, and time for meeting attendees to share best practices with the rest of the group.
