Promotion and the Law at February Meeting
The Public Relations Association of Central Illinois (PRA) will have its next meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Barrack’s Cater Inn in Peoria, IL from 11:45 a.m-1 p.m. Cost is $17 for members or $22 for non-members.
The topic is “Promotion and the Law” and will feature speakers Paul Burmeister and Michael Fricke of Husch Blackwell Sanders. Burmeister and Fricke will address common
legal issues that arise within marketing and public relations, including trademark and copyrights, defamation and privacy rights, as well as other pertinent topics that may arise on a day-to-day basis. In addition, these attorneys will delve into the growing area of e-commerce, including a discussion of legal implications of ad-blocking software, as well as a brief overview of potential changes in regulations regarding the use of testimonials.
