Public Relations Association of Central Illinois

Welcome to the website of the Public Relations Association of Central Illinois (PRA). Our last meeting of the year was May 21, where we participated in 5-minute networking, elected our new board for 2008-2009, and ate birthday cake to celebrate PRA’s 60th Anniversary.

PRA offers monthly presentations (September through May) by top professionals in their fields who share the latest information on ways to move public relations confidently into the 21st century. During our meetings, members and guests are provided with an opportunity to network with fellow public relations people and become friends with people who have similar goals.PRA also sponsors the Bill Burdon Memorial Resource library at the Peoria Public Library downtown branch, which contains books, tapes and videos chosen for the business that plays a major part of our lives. PRA offers a new perception to the world of public relations. We hope to instill fresh ideas and excitement into your professional life, if so, our mission is complete.

Once each year we sponsor an informal meet and greet with Bradley University students majoring in communications. This introduces students to our organization and if Peoria is lucky, some of the graduates will stay in the area and be a part of the workforce.
